Trouble loading channel history

Technical Summary:
On October 8 from 1:36pm to 1:52pm PT, we detected some people were unable to send or retrieve messages in Slack. This was the result of a disruption to internet traffic external to Slack. The interrupted connections were automatically re-routed, and the ability to send and receive messages was restored by 1:52pm.

12:14 PM PST

We are happy to report that the issue has now been resolved, and everyone should be able to view their channel history successfully. If you run into any trouble, please let us know at feedback@slack.com. Thanks for bearing with us today.

Some customers are experiencing trouble connecting to the mobile app

Technical Summary:
On October 8th between 5:55pm PT and 9:55pm PT, some customers were unable to connect to Slack’s mobile app. Affected customers were shown a connection error banner during this time.

At 5:55pm PT, we released a deploy which introduced an error in our code and prevented connections for customers using the app on their Android or iOS devices. Once we detected the issue, we reverted the deploy and customers were able to successfully connect to Slack again at 9:55pm PT.

We are hard at work on scoping preventive measures to ensure this doesn’t happen again in the future.
