Incident

Some Android app users may be unable to sign in with their identity providers on Grid

On January 30 at 8:40 PM PST, we internally detected an issue where customers were unable to sign into the Android app through Single Sign-On. Upon investigation, we determined that the issue was related to a recent browser release. On February 1 at 3:29 PM PST, we implemented a fix, so all customers should now be able to sign into Slack on their Android devices. If you are still having trouble, please let us know at feedback@slack.com.

Thanks so much for your patience while our team addressed these issues with sign in on Android users. Everything should be working as it should once again, but if you run into trouble, please let us know at feedback@slack.com.

We believe to have narrowed the issue down to users on Chrome version 72. We do however have a workaround for the meantime. If you’re facing this problem, please try the following steps:

1. Open a mobile web browser and navigate to your workspace URL
2. Tap 'Sign in with [your identity provider]'
3. Enter your username and password, then sign in
4. Once signed in, tap 'Open Slack' under 'Have the app already?' to launch your workspace
