On January 15th at 12:00pm PT, a code change to improve error messages in Slack caused some users to experience difficulties editing and uploading custom emoji. At 6:00pm PT we identified the affected deploy, conducted an investigation and reverted the deploy, resulting in all users being able to successfully edit or upload custom emoji by 8:00pm PT.
We have implemented preventive measures to ensure this doesn’t happen in the future. If you are still having issues, please reach out to us at email@example.com.
