Some people are experiencing failed searches

Issue Summary:

On July 2, 2019 at 1:44 p.m. PDT searches began to fail for a subset of users. After some investigation, the root cause was traced to a set of very large messages causing the search indexing feature to become overloaded and fail. We suspended these specific messages from being indexed and implemented a message-index size limit. This allowed systems to return back to normal by July 4, 2019 at 12:07 a.m. PDT.

Some customers are unable to load new messages or their channel sidebar

Issue Summary:

On July 2, 2019 at 6:39 p.m. PDT, we received reports of messages and the channel sidebar not loading for some customers. We launched an investigation and by July 2 at 11:01 p.m. PDT, all customers were able to correctly connect and the issue was resolved.

Issues getting in touch with Slack Support

We've kept an eye on the upstream troubles that were causing errors with our Help Center and getting in touch with our support team, and all seems to be doing much better now. Please don't hesitate to reach out to us if you're still seeing any issues on this front.
