On August 16, 2019 at 5:25 a.m. PDT, we received a report that some Enterprise Grid users were unable to open a direct message, use the Quick Switcher or mention a team member in Slack. We identified that it was affecting a small number of customers who used the shared channels beta on their workspaces prior to migrating those workspaces to the same Enterprise Grid organization.
Due to a code change, we erroneously classified some users as being users from other external organizations. This is why those users could not be direct messaged or mentioned. We deployed a fix and by 12:17 p.m. PDT on August 21, 2019, the issue was fully resolved.

On August 16, 2019 at 7:13 a.m. PDT, a significant spike in search requests caused the server to overload. This caused search to fail for all users. Upon investigation, we identified the root cause and moved the traffic to other services to process the search requests. We fully resolved the issue at 1:05 p.m. PDT.
