Some people are having trouble sending direct messages
Issue Summary:
On January 21, 2020 from 12:50 p.m. PST, some Slack customers experienced issues sending messages in direct message conversations. In particular, customers may have seen a "Slack couldn't send this message" error. These errors were a result of lag during one of our routine database changes, which caused significant delays to the data transfer. Once we resolved this delay, direct messages were delivered successfully once again and the issue was resolved at 5:57 p.m. PST.

Some of our customers are seeing errors when attempting to send direct messages (DMs) in Slack. We're currently looking into why this is happening, and we'll keep you posted as soon as we have more information. We're sorry for the interruption.
