Incident

Trouble with confirmation emails for invite links

Issue summary:
On August 7, 2020 from 11:28 a.m. PDT until 5:39 p.m. PDT, outbound signup confirmation emails were not delivered and inbound emails forwarded into Slack failed to notify users through a direct message with Slackbot. We identified two code changes and confirmed that these issues were unrelated. The changes were reverted and after 5:39 p.m. PDT new signup confirmation emails were delivered and new inbound emails forwarded to Slack began notifying users through a direct message with Slackbot.

9:20 PM PST

We have released a fix and confirmation emails should now be working as expected. Users can now receive outbound signup confirmation emails by clicking the original invite link. We are sorry for any interruption this may have caused. If you are still encountering any trouble let us know at feedback@slack.com.

6:00 PM PST

We've determined this issue is only impacting confirmation emails sent after clicking an invite link to join a workspace, while other emails are working as intended. We'll continue to keep you posted as we work towards a fix.

For now, we recommend sending invitations directly via email, rather than sharing invite links with invitees.

3:34 PM PST

Some customers may be unable to receive emails from Slack. We're currently investigating this issue, and we'll let you know as soon as we have more information. We apologize for the inconvenience in the meantime.
