On January 8, 2021 from 5:50 p.m. to 8:25 p.m. PST, calls and posts were broken for users on the desktop version of Slack. Users would have encountered an error message while trying to use these features.
This was caused by a recent code change which caused clients to fail to initiate new calls and posts.
Upon discovery of the issue, our team rolled back the code change at 8:25 p.m. PST, and customers could resume using calls and posts again.

We've released a fix for the issue that affected posts and calls on desktop. Affected customers should be able to get things working again by using Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+R to reload the app.
We apologise for the disruption to your day, and we'll be back to share an Issue Summary shortly.
