Trouble with Workflow Builder

Issue summary:
On March 3, 2021 from around 9:25 a.m. to 12:46 p.m. PST, some customers experienced issues using Workflow Builder.

Congestion in some areas of the Workflow Builder infrastructure resulted in this feature not working as expected. Customers may have encountered error messages within Slack, such as when using a workflow started by a channel action, as well as silent failures, such as scheduled workflows that failed to run as expected.

We removed this congestion from the affected areas of the infrastructure, and Workflow Builder was working once again. This step was a temporary remediation, and we’ll work to resolve the root cause of this issue.

Note: We’ve updated this summary with what the congestion resulted in as well as our remediation steps. We’ve also added some specific examples of the trouble customers may have encountered.
