Incident

Some users may notice slow performance throughout Slack

Issue summary:
On August 10, 2021 from around 8:39 a.m. to 9:53 a.m. PDT, some customers may have experienced slow performance and issues loading channels among other objects in the Slack app.

Due to a recent change to how some requests are routed through our servers, caching functionality was not working as expected for some users, causing certain requests to fail. We rolled back the change, which resolved the issue for all affected users.

2:02 PM PST

We're happy to report that users should no longer be experiencing slow performance issues in Slack. If you still are however, please try refreshing your desktop app (cmd/ctrl+shift+R) or force quitting your mobile app. We’re sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.

We’re still investigating the slow performance issues throughout Slack. However, some users may see an improvement by refreshing their desktop app (cmd/ctrl+shift+R), or force quitting their mobile app. We’ll be back with another update when we know more.
