Issue summary:
On December 13, 2021 from 12:01 p.m. to 12:21 p.m. PST, some users had trouble loading the Threads and Mentions & reactions pages. A smaller subset of users had trouble loading Slack, and some may've encountered difficulty loading channel messages.

After a sudden influx of message reactions activity, a portion of our databases became overloaded with queries.

We deployed a change to improve the efficiency of these types of queries, resolving the issue and mitigating future recurrence.

Between 12:01 p.m. to 12:21 p.m. PST some users may have experienced issues loading their Threads or Mentions & reactions pages. A smaller subset of users may have been unable to load Slack entirely. We've since identified the issue and rolled out a fix.

If you're still experiencing issues please try reloading Slack (press Command/Control + Shift + R).
