Some messages aren't loading from DMs and private channels

Issue summary:
On December 6, 2021 from 1:37 p.m. to December 8, 1:55 p.m. PST, some customers may have detected that messages weren't loading from DMs and private channels when scrolling through their message history.


After identifying the issue to a recent change made to how the client fetches messages, we reverted these changes, which resolved the issue for all impacted users.

We've deployed a fix, and messages from DMs and private channels should be loading properly now.

Please reload Slack, by pressing Command/Control + Shift + R.

We apologize for the disruption, and will return with an issue summary in the next 24 hours.

We are continuing to investigate reports of messages not loading correctly in private channels and DMs. Clearing the app’s cache may resolve this in some cases.
Note: We’ve edited the wording of our previous update to more accurately reflect this issue. Messages are not missing, but may not be loading correctly.
