From 10:36 AM PST on February 2, 2022 until 5:07 PM PST on February 8, 2022, Single-Channel Guests could not type in existing group direct messages on iOS devices.
We traced the root of the issue to a recent change to the iOS composer. We have rolled back the change which in turn resolved the issue for all the affected users.

We've rolled out a fix and customers should no longer be experiencing any trouble sending group DMs. We appreciate your patience while we sorted this out.
