From 12:00 AM PDT on June 6th, 2022 until 8:50 PM PDT on June 8th, 2022, some users who had been recently added to a workspace were not listed as workspace members. This meant that other users were not able to add them to channels, since they did not appear to be members of the workspace.
We discovered that an earlier code change inadvertently introduced an issue with the way we processed information about new workspace members, leading to some stale workspace membership information.
Since the cache that holds workspace membership information is reloaded regularly, this only caused issues when the new members had been added to the workspace in the last 48 hours.
On June 8th, 2022, we deployed a fix to correct the underlying problem. This resolved the issue for all customers, allowing users to add new workspace members to channels as expected.

We have released a fix for the issue impacting customers and users should now be able to add people to channels.

Our investigation suggests that this is primarily affecting newly provisioned users. We don’t have any additional news at this time, but we’re still actively working to resolve this issue. We’ll provide an update as soon as we have new information to share

We’re still actively investigating this issue. We’ve found that the cause of the problem stems from incorrectly showing desired invited users as not belonging to the same workspace as the channel. The users in fact do belong to the right workspace. We’ll provide another update as soon as we have more information to share.
