On August 4, 2023 from 8:04 AM PDT to 11:14 AM PDT, some users were unable to upload files in Slack.
We determined that a recent backend code change was erroneously detecting certain users as deactivated, which in turn was causing these users requests to upload files to be rejected. We reverted this change, which resolved the issue for all affected users.

We’ve restored full functionality to file uploads for all impacted users. You may need to reload Slack (Command/Ctrl + Shift + R) in order for this fix to be reflected on your end. We’re sorry for the disruption we brought to your day.

Some users are seeing signs of improvement, but we're still working towards a full resolution. If you're experiencing any trouble, please reload Slack using Command + Shift + R (Mac) or Ctrl + Shift + R.
